Easter 2010 Annual Egg Hunt

Easter's Annual Egg Hunt at Mamaw's and Papaw's was loads of fun as usual. This year the eggs contained animals, money and of course candy. The final prize was an Easter Basket with lots of toys. Kristina and Steve kindly hid all 54 eggs and made sure the kids found them all. Easter Lily's and Chocolate was given the the "older" kids (Stacy, Brad, Kristina and Steve), and fun was had by all! We are so blessed to have our family and blessed to have such a beautiful day to celebrate the rising of our Lord!

Stacy's Black Eye

This beautiful shiner was caused by our sweet 2 year old grandson. Evan sat up suddenly while Stacy was bent over him and he basically head butted her striking her cheek. The shiner is still developing and should be even more colorful tomorrow. Evan told his Mommy "I sorry" and he liked her new make up. Evan by the way is just fine and uninjured :)

October trip to Lancaster and Lititz, PA

Bill and I took a few days to get away to Lancaster and Lititz, PA. The Amish Country is so restful and the quaint little town of Lititz was so cute. We visited Wilbur's Chococate Factory where I do believe the best chocolate in America is made. I guess Obama visited this factory on his campaign tour. We walked the streets of Lititz where time appears to just stand still. The old church is Moravian and quite beautiful. The colors of the trees were bursting in reds and oranges. What a great time to take a breather from the rat race. We also took in a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater. It was really good. We really needed these three days.

We will miss you, Pops!

Papaw Davis, affectionately known as "Pops" passed away on Oct 6. We loved him so much. He always had a smile especially for the grandchildren. He was a war hero decorated with a bronze medal for his work as a medic in the Campaign on Rome in WW II. He was a coin collector collecting some amazing old coins. He loved his cigar and nightly wine and we will miss sitting with him on the back porch as he enjoyed his cigar. He was always so appreciative of anything you would do for him saying "I thank ye" I loved being called his favorite daughter in law. (I know, I was his only one) He never made a difference loving everyone equally. He never had anything bad to say about anyone and really seemed to like Baylee. Baylee, of course loves everyone and is quite a good therapy dog. She always made him smile when she would stretch out on the couch without a care in the world. We will miss him, but we can only imagine the great reunion in the next life with his wife of 60 years, Mimi. Bye Pop's. See you later.

First Day of School!

Rylie is now off to the fourth grade! She was ready to go back. She get's a little bored at the end of summer. Evan looks like he is enjoying posing for the picture. What kind of face is he making? He looks a little ornery. Rylie looks so pretty. I wish she wouldn't grow up so fast.

Stacy and Rylie 5K Bear Run

Mother and daughter did really well in the 5K run. Stacy beat her time last week and took home a second place trophy. Rylie ran in the 14 and under division and ran the whole way. Really proud of both of them!

New Shoes!

School Shopping trip to Tangier Outlets . The kids got new Converse Tennis Shoes. They are so cute. Here is Evan sporting his new shoes sans pants of course. I will add a pic of Rylie modeling her new shoes later when I can get a good pic of them. They are bright yellow with purple strings.

Kennywood Fun!

Took a day to take the kids to Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh. It was so much fun for the kids! Here are just a few pics of the fun! And yes.....I actually rode three rides including two roller coasters. I can still do it! Love that Jack Rabbit Roller Coaster! It feels like it jumps the track. They say the secret is the double dip with "air time".
