My love of computers, needlework, science fiction, and, of course, being a "Mamaw" all combined into one central location. Stop here to collect hints and share a tip or two as we travel through life one day at a time.

October trip to Lancaster and Lititz, PA
Bill and I took a few days to get away to Lancaster and Lititz, PA. The Amish Country is so restful and the quaint little town of Lititz was so cute. We visited Wilbur's Chococate Factory where I do believe the best chocolate in America is made. I guess Obama visited this factory on his campaign tour. We walked the streets of Lititz where time appears to just stand still. The old church is Moravian and quite beautiful. The colors of the trees were bursting in reds and oranges. What a great time to take a breather from the rat race. We also took in a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater. It was really good. We really needed these three days.

We will miss you, Pops!
Papaw Davis, affectionately known as "Pops" passed away on Oct 6. We loved him so much. He always had a smile especially for the grandchildren. He was a war hero decorated with a bronze medal for his work as a medic in the Campaign on Rome in WW II. He was a coin collector collecting some amazing old coins. He loved his cigar and nightly wine and we will miss sitting with him on the back porch as he enjoyed his cigar. He was always so appreciative of anything you would do for him saying "I thank ye" I loved being called his favorite daughter in law. (I know, I was his only one) He never made a difference loving everyone equally. He never had anything bad to say about anyone and really seemed to like Baylee. Baylee, of course loves everyone and is quite a good therapy dog. She always made him smile when she would stretch out on the couch without a care in the world. We will miss him, but we can only imagine the great reunion in the next life with his wife of 60 years, Mimi. Bye Pop's. See you later.
